    Solo Soles Returns and Refunds Policy

    Effective Date: August 4, 2026Last Updated: August 4, 2026

    This Returns and Refunds Policy explains when purchases made through the Solo Soles marketplace may qualify for a return or refund.

    Solo Soles is operated by Solo Sole Shoes LLC ("Solo Soles," "we," "us," or "our").

    Solo Soles is a peer-to-peer marketplace connecting independent buyers and sellers of individual shoes. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Solo Soles does not own, manufacture, inspect, warehouse, or sell items listed by third-party sellers.

    This Policy should be read together with the Solo Soles Terms of Use, Buyer Protection Policy, Seller Policy, and other applicable marketplace policies.

    1. General Return Policy

    Because Solo Soles is a marketplace for individual shoes sold by independent sellers, purchases are not automatically returnable simply because a buyer changes their mind or an accurately described shoe does not fit as expected.

    Returns are generally available when:

    • The seller materially misrepresented the item;
    • The wrong item was shipped;
    • The wrong LEFT or RIGHT shoe was shipped;
    • The marked size or width materially differs from the listing;
    • The item has significant undisclosed damage;
    • The item is materially not as described;
    • The item is counterfeit;
    • The item arrives materially damaged under circumstances covered by this Policy; or
    • Applicable law otherwise requires a return or refund.

    Individual sellers may voluntarily offer additional return rights, provided those terms are clearly disclosed in the listing and do not conflict with Solo Soles policies or applicable law.

    2. Left and Right Shoe Returns

    Solo Soles uses a standardized identification system:

    YELLOW + L + LEFT= LEFT SHOE

    RED + R + RIGHT= RIGHT SHOE

    Seller Sends the Wrong Side

    If the listing accurately states that the buyer purchased a LEFT shoe but the seller sends a RIGHT shoe, the seller has sent the wrong item.

    If the listing accurately states that the buyer purchased a RIGHT shoe but the seller sends a LEFT shoe, the seller has sent the wrong item.

    In either circumstance, the buyer may qualify for:

    • An authorized return;
    • Seller-funded reasonable return shipping; and
    • A refund of the covered transaction amount.

    Buyer Purchases the Wrong Side

    If the listing and checkout process accurately identified the shoe as LEFT or RIGHT and the buyer nevertheless purchased the wrong side, the purchase ordinarily does not qualify for a mandatory seller-funded return or refund.

    The buyer may ask the seller to voluntarily accept a return, but the seller is not required to do so unless the listing, Solo Soles policy, or applicable law provides otherwise.

    3. Size and Fit

    Sellers must accurately disclose the manufacturer's marked shoe size and width.

    If the seller lists a shoe as one size or width but sends a materially different size or width, the buyer may qualify for a return and refund.

    However, shoe fit is inherently subjective and varies among:

    • Manufacturers;
    • Models;
    • Styles;
    • Materials;
    • Production years; and
    • Individual users.

    An accurately listed shoe that simply does not fit the buyer as expected ordinarily does not qualify for a mandatory return or refund.

    Buyers should carefully review size, width, brand, model, photographs, and description before purchasing.

    4. Item Materially Not as Described

    A return may be authorized if an item materially differs from the seller's listing.

    Examples may include:

    • Wrong shoe;
    • Wrong LEFT/RIGHT side;
    • Wrong marked size;
    • Wrong marked width;
    • Wrong brand or model;
    • Significant undisclosed wear;
    • Significant undisclosed stains;
    • Significant undisclosed damage;
    • Material alteration not disclosed;
    • Materially incorrect condition; or
    • Counterfeit merchandise.

    Minor subjective differences that do not materially affect the accuracy of the listing generally do not qualify.

    5. Used Shoes

    Used shoes may display wear consistent with their disclosed condition.

    A buyer may not obtain a refund merely because a used shoe displays ordinary wear that:

    • Was disclosed;
    • Was reasonably visible in photographs; or
    • Is consistent with the condition assigned to the listing.

    Sellers remain responsible for disclosing material defects or unusual wear.

    6. Buyer's Remorse

    The following circumstances ordinarily do not require a seller to accept a return:

    • Buyer changed their mind;
    • Buyer no longer needs the shoe;
    • Buyer found the item elsewhere for less;
    • Buyer does not like the style after receiving it;
    • Buyer dislikes an accurately represented color;
    • Buyer accidentally selected the wrong side despite accurate LEFT/RIGHT disclosures;
    • Buyer selected the wrong size despite accurate sizing information;
    • Buyer selected the wrong width despite accurate width information; or
    • An accurately listed shoe does not fit or feel as expected.

    A seller may voluntarily agree to a return in these circumstances.

    7. Inspection Period

    Buyers should inspect purchases promptly after delivery.

    A buyer ordinarily must report a potential return or Buyer Protection issue within:

    3 CALENDAR DAYS AFTER CONFIRMED DELIVERY.

    The delivery date will generally be determined by carrier tracking information.

    Solo Soles may extend this period when:

    • Applicable law requires additional time;
    • The problem could not reasonably have been discovered during ordinary inspection;
    • Carrier circumstances justify an extension; or
    • Extraordinary circumstances reasonably warrant additional time.

    8. Requesting a Return

    To request a return, the buyer should access the applicable order and select:

    REPORT A PROBLEM

    or

    REQUEST A RETURN

    The buyer should identify the reason for the request.

    Potential reasons include:

    • Wrong LEFT/RIGHT shoe;
    • Wrong item;
    • Wrong size;
    • Wrong width;
    • Item not as described;
    • Undisclosed damage;
    • Suspected counterfeit;
    • Shipping damage; or
    • Other qualifying issue.

    9. Supporting Evidence

    Solo Soles may require evidence before approving a return.

    Evidence may include:

    • Photographs of the shoe;
    • Photograph of the size label;
    • Photograph showing whether the shoe is LEFT or RIGHT;
    • Photographs of alleged damage;
    • Photographs of packaging;
    • Shipping label;
    • Tracking information;
    • Written explanation; and
    • Relevant communications.

    The seller may also be asked to provide evidence.

    Both parties are expected to cooperate reasonably and truthfully.

    10. Do Not Return an Item Without Authorization

    Unless otherwise instructed, buyers should not independently mail an item back to the seller before receiving return authorization or instructions through Solo Soles.

    An unauthorized return may interfere with tracking, refund processing, or marketplace protection.

    11. Return Shipping Deadline

    Once a return is authorized, the buyer ordinarily must ship the item within:

    5 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER RETURN AUTHORIZATION.

    The buyer must follow the provided return instructions.

    Failure to ship the item within the required period may result in closure of the return unless an extension is approved.

    12. Return Condition

    The buyer must generally return the same item received in substantially the same condition.

    Reasonable inspection is permitted.

    After discovering a potential return issue, the buyer should not:

    • Wear the shoe beyond reasonable inspection;
    • Alter it;
    • Repair it;
    • Customize it;
    • Intentionally damage it;
    • Materially clean or modify it; or
    • Remove identifying features unnecessarily.

    13. Returning the Same Item

    The buyer must return the exact item received.

    Returning a different item, substitute shoe, counterfeit item, more heavily worn item, empty package, or intentionally altered item may constitute marketplace fraud.

    Solo Soles may deny the refund and restrict or terminate the buyer's account.

    14. Return Shipping Costs

    Seller Error

    When the return results from seller error, the seller will ordinarily be responsible for reasonable authorized return shipping.

    Seller error may include:

    • Wrong item;
    • Wrong LEFT/RIGHT side;
    • Materially wrong size or width;
    • Materially inaccurate description;
    • Significant undisclosed damage;
    • Counterfeit item; or
    • Other material seller misrepresentation.

    Buyer Preference or Error

    If Solo Soles or the seller voluntarily permits a return that is not caused by seller error, the buyer may be responsible for:

    • Return shipping;
    • Original shipping charges; and
    • Other costs permitted by applicable law and disclosed marketplace rules.

    15. Tracked Returns

    Solo Soles may require tracked return shipping.

    Where Solo Soles provides a prepaid return label, the buyer should use that label.

    The buyer should retain shipping documentation until the refund is completed.

    16. Lost Return Packages

    Responsibility for a return package lost in transit may depend on:

    • Who purchased the return label;
    • Whether the required label was used;
    • Tracking information;
    • Carrier responsibility; and
    • Other circumstances.

    Solo Soles may assist in evaluating the appropriate resolution.

    17. Refunds

    When a qualifying return is completed, a refund may include:

    • Item purchase price;
    • Original shipping charge when appropriate; and
    • Applicable taxes associated with the refunded amount.

    The exact refund depends on the reason for the return and applicable law.

    18. Partial Refunds

    In appropriate circumstances, Solo Soles may facilitate a partial refund when:

    • Buyer and seller agree;
    • The item has a minor undisclosed issue but the buyer wishes to keep it; or
    • Solo Soles determines that a partial adjustment reasonably resolves the dispute.

    Neither party should use partial refunds to circumvent marketplace policies.

    19. Refund Without Return

    Solo Soles may, in limited circumstances, authorize a refund without requiring return of the item.

    This may occur where:

    • Return is impractical;
    • Item presents a safety concern;
    • Item is prohibited from being shipped;
    • Seller agrees;
    • Return shipping is disproportionate to the item's value; or
    • Another unusual circumstance warrants it.

    Buyers should never assume they may keep an item and receive a full refund unless Solo Soles expressly authorizes that result.

    20. Refund Processing Time

    Approved refunds will be submitted through the applicable payment processor.

    The amount of time required for funds to appear depends on the buyer's:

    • Payment method;
    • Card issuer;
    • Bank; and
    • Payment processor.

    Solo Soles cannot control external financial institutions' posting times.

    21. Seller Proceeds

    Where a refund results from seller responsibility, Solo Soles or its payment provider may:

    • Withhold pending seller proceeds;
    • Reverse seller proceeds;
    • Deduct the refund from available balances;
    • Offset the amount against future seller proceeds; or
    • Take other action permitted by the Seller Policy, payment-provider rules, and applicable law.

    22. Shipping Damage

    If an item arrives materially damaged during shipment, the buyer should promptly:

    1. Photograph the shoe;
    2. Photograph the shipping package;
    3. Preserve packaging;
    4. Photograph the shipping label; and
    5. Report the issue through Solo Soles.

    Solo Soles may determine whether the matter should be handled through:

    • Seller responsibility;
    • Carrier insurance;
    • Buyer Protection; or
    • Another available remedy.

    23. Item Not Received

    A transaction involving an item that never arrives is ordinarily handled under the Solo Soles Buyer Protection Policy rather than as a conventional return because there is no item to return.

    24. Counterfeit or Prohibited Items

    If a buyer believes an item is counterfeit, illegal, hazardous, contaminated, or otherwise prohibited, the buyer should not independently resell or redistribute the item through Solo Soles.

    Contact Solo Soles for instructions.

    Special handling may be required.

    25. Chargebacks

    Buyers are encouraged to use Solo Soles' internal Buyer Protection and return procedures before initiating an external payment dispute where appropriate.

    Nothing in this Policy limits non-waivable rights available under applicable law or through an applicable payment provider.

    26. Abuse of Returns

    Solo Soles may restrict accounts that abuse the return or refund process.

    Examples include:

    • False claims;
    • Repeated fraudulent returns;
    • Returning different merchandise;
    • Manipulated evidence;
    • Intentional damage;
    • False non-delivery claims;
    • Excessive bad-faith disputes; or
    • Chargeback abuse.

    27. Voluntary Seller Returns

    A seller may choose to offer a more generous return policy than Solo Soles requires.

    Any seller-specific return terms should be clearly stated in the listing.

    A seller may not use a seller-specific policy to eliminate protections that Solo Soles or applicable law requires.

    28. Consumer Rights

    Nothing in this Policy is intended to waive, limit, or eliminate a consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

    Where applicable law provides greater protection, applicable law controls.

    29. Changes to This Policy

    Solo Sole Shoes LLC may update this Returns and Refunds Policy as the marketplace evolves.

    The current version will be posted at SoloSoleShoes.com with its effective and last-updated dates.
