Solo Soles Accessibility Statement
Solo Soles is operated by Solo Sole Shoes LLC ("Solo Soles," "we," "us," or "our").
Solo Soles is committed to providing a website and marketplace experience that is accessible and usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including people with disabilities.
Because Solo Soles was created to help people with a wide range of footwear needs, accessibility is an important part of how we design and operate our marketplace.
1. Our Accessibility Commitment
We are working to design and maintain SoloSoleShoes.com using recognized accessibility principles and best practices.
Our goals include making the website usable by people who may:
- Use screen readers;
- Navigate using a keyboard rather than a mouse;
- Use voice-recognition software;
- Magnify content;
- Have low vision;
- Have color-vision differences;
- Have hearing impairments;
- Have mobility limitations;
- Have cognitive or learning disabilities; or
- Use other assistive technologies.
2. Accessibility Standards
Solo Soles aims to follow generally recognized accessibility practices, including applicable portions of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).
Our current design goal is to work toward conformance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA where reasonably practicable.
Accessibility is an ongoing process, and we may continue to improve the Platform as technologies, standards, and marketplace features evolve.
3. Left and Right Shoe Identification
One of the most important features of Solo Soles is the distinction between LEFT and RIGHT shoes.
Solo Soles uses the following visual system:
YELLOW + L + LEFT= LEFT SHOE
RED + R + RIGHT= RIGHT SHOE
Color is used as an additional visual cue only.
Solo Soles does not intend for users to rely on color alone.
Every LEFT/RIGHT designation should also include:
- The letter L or R; and
- The written word LEFT or RIGHT.
This approach is intended to reduce ordering mistakes and help users with color-vision differences or other visual disabilities.
4. Keyboard Accessibility
We aim to make important website functions operable using a keyboard.
This includes, where reasonably practicable:
- Navigation menus;
- Search;
- Filters;
- Product listings;
- Forms;
- Account controls;
- Buttons;
- Checkout;
- Buyer and seller messaging; and
- Other interactive elements.
Keyboard focus should remain visible so users can identify where they are on the page.
5. Screen Reader Support
We aim to structure pages so common screen readers and assistive technologies can interpret website content.
This may include use of:
- Meaningful headings;
- Form labels;
- Button labels;
- Alternative text;
- Semantic page structure;
- Descriptive links; and
- Appropriate accessibility attributes.
6. Product Photographs
Seller-uploaded photographs are an important part of marketplace listings.
Where supported by the Platform, Solo Soles may provide or encourage alternative text, captions, structured product information, or other methods to help communicate important information contained in images.
Essential product information should not appear only in an image.
For example, LEFT/RIGHT side, size, width, price, condition, and brand should also appear as text.
7. Text and Readability
We aim to use:
- Readable font sizes;
- Clear typography;
- Sufficient spacing;
- Plain and understandable labels;
- Clear headings;
- Consistent navigation; and
- Appropriate contrast between text and backgrounds.
Users may also be able to use browser or device features to enlarge text or zoom content.
8. Color Contrast
Solo Soles uses color as part of its brand identity and marketplace organization.
We aim to maintain sufficient contrast between:
- Text and backgrounds;
- Buttons and surrounding content;
- Form fields and page backgrounds;
- Interactive elements and surrounding content; and
- LEFT/RIGHT labels and their text.
Again, the yellow LEFT and red RIGHT system will always be paired with written and letter-based identifiers rather than color alone.
9. Forms
We aim to make forms accessible by providing:
- Clear labels;
- Instructions;
- Required-field identification;
- Error messages;
- Correction guidance;
- Logical tab order; and
- Accessible buttons and controls.
This is particularly important for:
- Account registration;
- Seller listing forms;
- Checkout;
- Returns;
- Buyer Protection claims; and
- Contact forms.
10. Checkout Accessibility
The Solo Soles checkout process is intended to clearly identify:
- The item being purchased;
- LEFT or RIGHT side;
- Size;
- Width;
- Price;
- Shipping;
- Taxes, if applicable; and
- Order total.
Before purchase, users may be required to confirm that they selected the intended shoe side and size. This confirmation should be accessible to keyboard and assistive-technology users.
11. Mobile Accessibility
Solo Soles is intended to be mobile-friendly.
We aim to support accessibility across commonly used:
- Smartphones;
- Tablets;
- Desktop computers; and
- Modern web browsers.
Some accessibility experiences may vary depending on the user's device, browser, operating system, and assistive technology.
12. Video and Multimedia
If Solo Soles publishes video or audio content, we aim to provide appropriate accessibility features where reasonably practicable, such as:
- Captions;
- Transcripts;
- Descriptive text; or
- Other accessible alternatives.
13. Third-Party Content and Services
Solo Soles may integrate with third-party services, including:
- Payment processors;
- Shipping providers;
- Mapping tools;
- Analytics services;
- Customer support services;
- Embedded media; and
- Other technology providers.
We do not control every aspect of third-party accessibility. However, accessibility may be considered when selecting and evaluating third-party services.
14. User-Generated Content
Solo Soles includes content created by independent users and sellers.
Although we provide tools and guidance intended to improve accessibility, we may not be able to guarantee that every seller-generated photograph, description, message, or listing is fully accessible.
We may improve seller tools and guidance over time to promote more accessible marketplace content.
15. Accessibility Assistance
If you experience difficulty using SoloSoleShoes.com or accessing information, please contact us. We want to understand the problem and, where reasonably possible, provide assistance or an alternative way to access the information or service.
